Shareef has been obsessed with technology since childhood, disassembling remote controls and driving his parents crazy. After getting engineering degrees from Brown and Case Western, Shareef was a data analyst before starting his business in 2016.

As the founder of the math and physics tutoring service Math Looks Good LLC, Shareef's culturally relevant communication style helps break down science, gaming, and math in a way that the average person can understand and appreciate.

In addition to being a business owner, Shareef is a math professor at the New Jersey Institute of Technology and Rutgers Newark. He is also a Video game and Learning professor at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. His views on science and technology have been featured in sources such as the New York Times, the Smithsonian, the Guardian, NPR, Scientific American, and Maclean's. He is also featured on YouTube in the diversity of the gaming series Gaming Looks Good. Shareef was a player / Dungeon Master (DM) of the Dungeons and Dragons (D&D) show Rivals of Waterdeep and a participant in many other tabletop role-play game shows (TTRPGs). He was previously featured as a co-host on the video game podcast Spawn On Me.
